About Me

Updated February 27, 2015

I consider myself a classic lolita with a sweet history, with a colorful, fun, and elegant wardrobe. That was curated with a great affection for Brand and off-brand a like. (I am pro-artist and do not purchase nor support the creation of replicas in Lolita fashion). The last year, I've discovered the great necessity of high quality Taobao shops in supplementing my wardrobe.

I spend time reading, drawing, and watching Netflix. When I'm not researching topics for the blog or attending Lolita fashion meetups, I take great enjoyment in my love for sportsball of all kinds, going to ice hockey and baseball games, spectating in the splendor of an event much larger than myself.

I collect books of all topics relating to Marie Antoinette, her family, and all things 18th century history - both fiction and non-fiction. As well as various documentaries and film adaptations. To say I'm quite the fan and admirer of Marie Antoinette is an understatement.

*Below is the old profile, when this blog was Sugary Quinn/The Frill Zone. I thought not to delete it, instead having it act as a reflection of who I was then and what I still am today, for though a few of it has changed, it is still very much the same.

Hello, I'm Theresa!

Digital artist and lifestyle blogger from New York.  I love Japanese fashion, particularly Elegant Gothic Lolita and my favorite fashion brands are Innocent World, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, and Angelic Pretty. I view street snaps from all over the world for inspiration and admiration in people's creativity. My fashion style is feminine, cute, and fun (sometimes bright)! The EGL community is worldwide and I have made friends from across the globe! One of the best parts of Lolita fashion is the meetups whether it's at a tea party, bowling alley, or convention, talking to other Lolitas and enjoying the fashion together is most fulfilling!

I have a variety of interests such as collecting postcards, watching cartoons, 90's nostalgia, and Asian Ball Jointed Dolls.  Since I was 10 years old, I've been dabbling in Photoshop and creating random websites (remember Geocities?). The journey since than, has brought me from graphic designer to digital artist. The endless possibilities with a digital medium gives me so much creative freedom to explore!

My other interests include cooking and baking, photography, and travelling. I've been up the entire Eastern seaboard (Maine to Florida) and Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Hawai'i. Hawai'i is my favorite place, it has left a very strong impact on my life, and made me the person I am today!
Hockey is a big part of my life and my favorite sport. My favorite NHL teams are Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks.  I run a little fan site called KrisLetang.org, if you are a Penguins fan or have no idea who Kris Letang is, you should check it out! I was raised on baseball by my father and am now a devout New York Mets fan! I've made many friends because of hockey and amazing experiences like attending games and meeting players.

There's nothing like a good time at a hockey game supporting your favorite team or tea house with your friends in frilly clothing. I love both and try to attend as many games as I can to have fun and meet new people!

I'm a New Yorker who relocated to North Carolina. My stomping ground was the Prudential Center (Newark, NJ - Devils) but now PNC Arena, in Raleigh, is where I will start new hockey adventures!

  • I own a game-used Kris Letang hockey stick.
